William Daniel "Danny" Avin Sr.

January 26, 1955 - July 17, 2016

William Daniel "Danny" Avin Sr. age 61 of the Carnes Community passed from this world and into Glory July 17, 2016 following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was a Christian and a member of first Baptist Church of Carnes where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher and is remembered for working with the Brotherhood. He had many hobbies including his fruit and nut orchard, jelly making, hog and cattle raising, drafting and studying the Bible. He enjoyed his personal outreach to his elderly family and friends. The many phone calls filled their days and many prayers were offered up for each other. Danny was a National Merit Scholar and athelete and graduated from Picayune High School in 1973. He worked for Brown and Root in a supervisory position. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Samson Lodge of Highlands, Texas. He is survived by his wife Lee Ann Lott Avin; his mother Edna Ladner Avin Guidry; his siblings Tina Grubbs, Kevin Avin, Nicky Guidry, Judy Witt, & Leslie Reynolds; his children Daniel Avin, Becky Cumbest, Aundrea Avin, and Caleb Avin; and his grandchildren John Daniel Avin & Cassie Cannady. Proceeded in death by his father William LeGrand Avin , stepfather Leo Guidry and brother Sam Avin. Memorial Service will be Saturday July 30 at 3 p.m. at the family plot of Emma and Ceville Ladner in the Alphonse G Malley Cemetary in the Dedeaux Community, Hancock County on Firetower Rd. He fought a good fight. This valiant warrior has gone home.
