Lela Diane Bennett

January 15, 1951 - January 27, 2022

January 15. 1951- January 27, 2022 God called home a sweet angel this past Thursday evening, January 27, 2022. Lela Diane Bennett was born to Harvey Ephram Chambliss and Jessie Mae Chambliss January 15, 1951, and she was the youngest of 12 siblings. Lela was a devout and faithful servant for the Lord and she was a very active member of her church where she played the piano every Sunday. No one who had the pleasure to meet her knew that she was here to serve Him. She put Him first in everything she did and was a shining light for many in this darkening world. Lela retired from Hattiesburg Health & Rehab early in 2020 where she had worked for over 10 years as a Billing Specialist. She was a faithful and devoted wife to her late husband, Connis Bennett and she was a loving and caring mother to her 2 children, Danny McDonald Jr. and Jerrilynn McCreary. No matter the troubles or pain she went through, she knew that God was the way through it because her faith in Him had proven that time and time again. She looked to him when there were troubles or hardship because she knew that He would never give anyone more than they can handle. She wanted to lead everyone to Him because she knew that He was the key to everyone’s salvation. Lela is survived by her 2 children, Danny McDonald, 47 of Petal, MS and Jerrilynn McCreary, 50 of Hattiesburg, MS. Her grandchildren, Justin Parker and Joshua Parker of Petal, MS and Trey McDonald and Connor McDonald of Petal, MS. We will be wishing our angel farewell Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 5 pm at her church, Parkway Baptist Church in Petal, MS. Any flowers, donations, or condolences may be sent to Parkway Baptist Church at 1522 Highway 42, Petal, MS 39465.
