Joseph Terrell Wilks was born November 27, 1939 at his grandparents home on Ash Street in Columbia Mississippi, to Lewis and Emma Lillian Wilks. Joe played football during his high school and college years and graduated from Columbia High School in 1958. He was the quarterback winning state champion. He attended Pearl River Junior College. He then moved to Washington DC to work for the FBI. Later he became a successful businessman in Arlington, VA. in automotive repair. In 1982 he returned to Columbia, MS taking over his father's business, also opening an auto repair shop. At the time of death he was a resident of Sumrall, MS. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and golf. Joe is survived by two sons, Bradley Terrell of Culpepper and Scott Lewis Wilks of Sterling, VA. and two grandchildren, Nicholas Joseph and Amanda Lea Wilks of Sterling, VA. One sister, Irene Wilks Gray of Searcy, Arkansas and one brother William E. Wilks of Sumrall, MS. Joseph Terrell left this earth on February 20, 2022 at the age 82.
