Tony Ray Duncan

On May 24th, 2024, Tony Ray ‘Donut’ Duncan (60) of Kokomo, MS, passed away at Forrest General Hospital surrounded by his family. Tony was born on March 24th, 1964 in Tylertown, MS. He was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, life partner, and friend. Tony loved spending time with his family. His daughter and son-in-law, Jordan and Jeremy, spent countless hours with him enjoying cool Miller Lites and catching up with his grandbabies which ‘Paw Tony’ adored so much. Whether it was chalk art on the shed floor, blowing bubbles, fishing, or rides on the 4-wheeler, he loved every minute of time he spent with them. He enjoyed afternoon visits at his mom and dad’s house and feeding the fish and deer together with them. Tony and his brother Todd spent much of their time together over the years fishing, hunting, going to the swim hole, and riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers. Life with Tony was nothing short of entertaining. He was always great at making people around him laugh and enjoyed firepit nights and hanging out with his many friends in the community. He also loved quiet days at home spending time with his two dogs and his many cats in his shed. He loved sitting in his deer stand watching the deer eat. They were so use to him, many would come up in his yard as he sat in the swing, just several feet away. In 2014, Tony reconnected with his childhood sweetheart, Lisa. They created a wonderful life together and made many memories over the past decade. They enjoyed fishing, hunting, long rides in the ‘buggy’, boating on the Pearl River, hanging out in the shed, and visiting with friends and family. With Lisa came her daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Jase. Tony became affectionally know as ‘TD’ and they immediately became his ‘bonus family’. One of his favorite trips with them was a week spent in Destin, FL offshore fishing. When Tony wasn’t enjoying time at home with family and friends, he was ‘off somewhere’ traveling for work doing what he loved. Tony was a member of the IUOE Local 925 and one of the ‘best damn operators’ you will ever come across. He was very skilled and talented at operating a track hoe and dug ditch for many pipelines across the country. He loved his pipeline family and was very proud to be a part of that community. He made long lasting friendship with many people all over the country. In 2022, after 20+ years in pipeline construction, Tony retired and hung up his hardhat and boots. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Duncan of Kokomo, MS; paternal grandparents, Hubert Duncan of Tylertown, MS and Doris Duncan Warren, of Franklinton, LA; and maternal grandparents, Richard and Inez Rushing of Tylertown, MS. He is survived by his mother, Nelda Duncan of Kokomo, MS; brother, Todd Duncan of Kokomo, MS; daughter, Jordan Bullock (Jeremy) of Columbia, MS; grandson Elijah Bullock and granddaughter Elizabeth Bullock both of Columbia, MS; life partner, Lisa Dillon of Kokomo, MS; bonus daughter Christy Browning (Jase) of Greenwell Springs, LA; and numerous family members and friends near and far. Per Tony’s wishes, there will be no public services and his ashes will be scattered by his family accordingly. Friends and family may leave condolences and remembrances on the funeral home website.
