Eleanor Elizabeth Landry Hebert (1944 - 2024) Eleanor Elizabeth Landry Hebert, 79, a cherished native of Houma, Louisiana, and a beloved resident of Richton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 25, 2024. Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a tireless servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her life was a living example of the biblical verse, Proverbs 31: 26, 28 & 29 — "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue… Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Her unwavering faith and boundless love for Christ were evident through her lifelong dedication to her community, her church, and to those around her, whether family or stranger. As a principal at Grace Christian Academy in Houma, LA, and an active member at Grace Christian Fellowship, Eleanor shaped many lives with her wisdom and grace. Her leadership extended to her roles on the boards of New Hope World Outreach Center and Family Harvest Chapel, where she served with devotion and vision. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Waybrun J. Hebert, Jr.; parents, Edward N. Landry, Sr. and Sarah F. Landry; brothers, Donald E. Landry, Lester Arthur "Slim" Landry, and Stephen E. Landry; granddaughter, Lauren Hebert; and great-grandson, Tristen Hebert. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faithfulness to her children, Rebecca Hebert Dupre (Michael), Dr. Waybrun J. Hebert III, Dr. Amy Hebert Knopf (Elise), Daniel E. Hebert (Amber), and Margie Hebert Ledet (Timothy). Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her 17 grandchildren: Kristen (Jason), Tali (Amy), Brittany, Waybrun IV (Jessica), Sarah (Andy), Elizabeth (Austin), Rebekah, Katelyn (Dylan), Sam, Ryle, Ben, Austin (Samantha), Jeshua, Holden, Timothy Jr., Abbigail, and Gabbrielle; and 16 great-grandchildren: Jordan, Evan, Gavin, Lincoln, Jayden, Lillian, Allaura, Adeline, Kian, Kylie, Lilia, Austin Waybrun, Theodore, Xena, Scarlet, Jimmy, and Briar Rose., who will continue to walk in the light of her profound kindness and generosity. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Edward N. Landry, Jr., and Gloria L. Hutchings. Join us in celebrating her vibrant life on June 29, 2024, at 1 PM at Family Harvest Chapel, 156 Apple Ave., Richton, MS. The service will continue with a graveside ceremony at Pinehaven Funeral Home, 103 Sullivan Kilrain Rd, Hattiesburg, MS. Box 446, Richton, MS 39476, or through Venmo to Abbigail Ledet @Abbi-rose-99. Eleanor's memory will forever inspire us to live life with the same compassion and zeal that she embodied every day.
